Characteristics and peculiarities

Backgrounds of this model
- The Silver Spur III is the successor of the Silver Spur II.
- In the meantime Bentley followed a model line of their own.
- The Silver Spur III was considered to be the final production phase of the Silver Spur models. Later it would turn out that a fourth generation would be necessary to keep the sales on level until the launch of the successor, the Silver Seraph.

General characteristics
- Distinctive wheel trims with painted rings.
- American cars no longer required the separate rectangular sealed beam headlamp units.
- The Silver Spur III has two airbags standard. The passenger's airbag is fitted within a veneered panel directly ahead of the passenger seat. The glovebox is repositioned under the facia.
- An identification plate "SILVER SPUR III".
- Plastic engine cover.
- A transmission Shift Energy Management (SEM) for a smoother operation.
- New seats with additional lumbar and side support and head restraints.
- Illuminated picnic tables.

- In 1995 the numbers of the following models are mixed within the same series of numbers: Silver Spirit III, Silver Spur III, Silver Dawn, Flying Spur, Bentley Turbo R, Bentley Turbo R LWB, Bentley Brooklands, Bentley Brooklands LWB.
- Number 54602 was built as a 1994 Silver Spur III (SCAZN02C0RCX54602). After some months the car got the turbocharged engine of the Flying Spur. Number 54602 was changed into a 1995 Flying Spur number (SCAZG03C2SCX54602), but Silver Spur III number 54602 was not deleted. In the archives the number 54602 is the only number that exists for two cars. In the archives a note can be found with the text: "Will all concerned please note that 54602 was converted + used as the development "Flying Spur" during jan – april 94. J Dyer."
