Characteristics and peculiarities |
- This model was built by order of Brunei on an exclusive basis. Specifications and technical details are not revealed.
- The Bentley Phoenix is a convertible with soft top, based on the Bentley Continental R and very similar to the Bentley B2.
- Both the Bentley Phoenix and Bentley Spectre were designed and built by PFSR, Pininfarina Studi E Ricerche from Turin, Italy.
- The engine was the Bentley Continental R Sufacon engine, without catalyst.
- Brakes and wheels were upgraded. The Phoenix and Spectre were the first models for Rolls-Royce to be fitted with electronic traction control.
- Some cars got a louder exhaust system, some got reflective glass.
- Applied colour schemes were among others: Black with black hides, Sapphire blue with Royal blue hides, Tudor red with St James red hides, Titanium with Slate hides.

Production and chassis numbers |
This model has the letter "H" on the fifth position in the chassis number. This letter indicates a non standard model for selected customers, especially Brunei. The serial numbers at the end of the chassis numbers don't belong to the regular numbers in that model year.
