In model year 1997 the Long wheelbase edition became the standard for the Turbo R model. On the badges the name was reduced from Turbo RL to Turbo R. This Turbo R is the first Turbo R of model year 1997. In this model year the diameter of the brakes was enlarged to 340mm. Bespoke feature of this car is "Azure road wheels".
