Backgrounds of this model
- The Bentley Brooklands replaced both the Bentley Eight and the Bentley Mulsanne S and represented the marque's entry vehicle.
- The Brooklands was also available as a Long wheelbase.
Original characteristics
- Colour-keyed vaned radiator shell.
- No chrome moulding along the bonnet centre line.
- A new front air dam with discreet integral fog lamps.
- Leather stitched gear selector located in the centre console in similar style to that of the Continental R.

Model year 1993

- Black hide-trimmed steering column cowl.

- Redesigned front and rear seats, styled with new longitudinal pleats for greater lateral support, and redesigned squab and cushions were in-line with current orthopaedic research for improved lumbar support.
- Shift Energy Management (SEM), which momentarily reduces engine torque before a gear shift, achieving a change that is barely noticeable.
- Restyled badges with a black background which matches the black background wheel trim centres.

- 16 inch wheels.
Model year 1996
- Radiator height being reduced by 2 inches.
- Adoption of an integrated front bumper and air dam design, together with wrap around bumpers. Also an integrated rear bumper design.
- Spare wheel stowage in the luggage compartment.
- New 16 inch wheels with new lower profile tyres that further improved handling and roadholding.
- New exterior mirrors on door cheater panels, no quarterlights.
- Sills and bumpers painted to match coachwork.
- New centre console layout.
- New facia and centre console with many detail alterations.
- Electrical adjustment of the steering wheel with preferred steering angle included in driver's seat memory. Automatical lift of the steering wheel to aid entry and exit to and from the driver's seat.
- Additional ranges of colour arrangements, both exterior and interior.
- Box-style front armrest with stowage compartment.
- Individually controlled cooling air outlets in rear compartment.
- One inch headroom more, made possible by detailed developments to the design of the front seat upholstery.
- 6 percent increase in maximum power.

- Specified with the 300 bhp Rolls-Royce Light Pressure Turbo (LPT).
- Electronic Traction Assistance System (ETAS) available as an option.
- The Turbo R large diameter micro alloy front disc brakes as an option.
- New, bright finished alloy wheel centres.
- A larger range of paint colours.
- Extended front seat cushions.
- Rear seat heaters as an option.
