Dimensions, kerb weight, performance The same as the 1995 Rolls-Royce Silver Spur III and 1996 Silver Spur. Characteristics and peculiarities Backgrounds of this model - The Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn is a special edition of the Rolls-Royce Silver Spur III and afterwards the Silver Spur. - The Silver Dawn has no predecessor or successor but is a model besides already existing models. The model represented what is usually termed as a 'lead-in' model. - The Silver Dawn was also available with a shorter wheel base, but in that case the car was called Silver Spirit. - In the first two years the Silver Dawn was only available for the American market. In model year 1997 it came available on all markets. Original characteristics - Naturally aspirated. - The following features were left out, compared to the Silver Spur: ashtrays, seat back pockets, companions, lambswool rugs, lumbar support, seat memory, seat heaters, rear footwell lights, radio telephone, boot badge, air horns, rear headrests, picnic tables, rear quarter badges, adjustable rear seats, Everflex roof, foot rests, painted wheel rings, rear wing aerial, no crossbanding or inlays to the woodwork, the fluid top ups in the boot, a tool kit. - No white wall tyres but black wall tyres. - A roof mounted aerial. - Most of the trim in Marvelon. - During the first model year (1995) a smoker's kit was added with ashtrays and cigar lighters. Model year 1996 - The same modifications as of the Silver Spur. - The Silver Dawn is the only model with a combined radio and compact disc unit, a simpler edition than in the other models. Model year 1997 - The Silver Dawn (and Silver Spur) could optionally be provided with ETAS, the Electronic Traction Assistance System. - All trim in leather as a standard. - Extended front seat cushions to provide greater comfort and support. - Rear seat heaters optional (Silver Spur standard). - Twin cupholders on the front centre console. - New range of paint colours.
