Dimensions, kerb weight, performance The same specifications as the Bentley Arnage (1999) and Bentley Arnage Green label. Characteristics and peculiarities Backgrounds of this model - The Bentley Arnage was launched in 1998 with a 4398 cc V8 BMW engine. The model was provided with a green label but wasn't called Arnage Green label. In the middle of 1998 Bentley became the property of Volkswagen and the comeback of the 6750 cc V8 was planned. From model year 2000 on the Arnage was powered with this 6750 cc V8 engine again. This model with the 6750 cc V8 was called Arnage Red label. The BMW-engine stayed available besides the 6750 cc V8 and the model year 2000 version with the 4398 cc V8 BMW engine was called the Arnage Green label. - The Arnage Green Label ended production in 2000, with the last called "The Birkin Arnage" (or Arnage 4.4L Birkin) after Bentley-Boy Tim Birkin. 54 cars were planned, matching the number of genuine Blower Bentleys initially built. But finally not 54 but only 52 cars were built. - Some sources state that 59 Arnages Green label are built. In that case the 4.4L Birkin editions are part of this number. General characteristics The changes of the Arnage Red label that were put through on the Arnage Green label and the Arnage 4.4L Birkin are: - Park distance control to the front and rear. - Stiffened front suspension, further strengthened body shell and bigger brakes. - Redesigned seats. - The rear bench relocated downwards and rearwards to provide 50 mm more legroom. - Green badges. - The lens covers for the headlights went from being glass to plastic. Production and chassis numbers Identification of the model in the chassis number The chassis number of a Bentley Arnage 4.4L Birkin has: - the letter L on the fourth position - the letter B on the fifth position. - a number between 5236 and 6786. Further details about the production and the chassis numbers - The chassis numbers of the Silver Seraph and Bentley Arnage models (1998 up to and including 2010) are assigned per model year. All models have got mixed numbers. Only the Long wheelbase models (2000 up to and including 2009) have got series of numbers of their own. - The numbers run from 1001 up to and including 6786 and from 8000 to about 14700.
