Backgrounds of this model

- On 10th May 2018, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars announced an all new SUV, with the model name Cullinan (named after the largest diamond ever discovered).
- The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is a 5-door 5-passenger SUV that was brought to the market besides the other Rolls-Royce models. The model didn't replace or succeed another model.
- Many technologies are based on the Rolls-Royce Phantom.

Original characteristics
- The Cullinan sits on the aluminium 'Architecture of Luxury' that was introduced for the Phantom.
- It is a, all-terrain high bodied car, with all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering. The 'Magic Carpet Ride' is incorporated.
- The engine is the 6.75 litre turbo charged V12 engine. It is connected to an eight-speed, shift-by-wire automatic transmission from ZF.
- Power output: 563 bhp / 420 kW at 5250 rpm. Max torque: 850 Nm / 627 lb ft at 1600 rpm.
- The rear profile of Cullinan is a two-part, 'D-Back' format, called "the Clasp", with the bustle denoting the place of the luggage.
- The seat and luggage arrangements are operated by buttons.
- A glass partition wall between the rear cabin and the luggage compartment.
- A panoramic glass roof.
- The car elevates automatically 40mm when the start button is pressed.
- The rear doors open at the front. All doors can be closed by pressing a button.
- The same Spirit of Ecstasy Rotary Controller from the Wraith, a touch pad with a Spirit of Ecstasy image with the ability to 'write' characters by finger, is fitted in the Cullinan. Furthermore the central information screen is for the first time touch sensitive
- Period functions, like alertness assistant, a 4-camera system with panoramic view, active cruise control, night vision and vision assist, wildlife & pedestrian warning, collision warning, cross-traffic warning, lane change warning, lane departure system, a wifi hotspot, the latest navigation and entertainment systems.

Production and chassis numbers

- Although the Cullinan was introduced in May 2018, no chassis numbers were assigned in model year 2018. The first model year is 2019.
- The Cullinans have a series of numbers of their own.
